Commendation by entomological Society of Nigeria, Ibadan Branch in 2009 for developing a rearing procedure and specially designed medium which permitted, for the first time, a study of the pre-imaginal stages of the flea beetle P. sjostedti (Jac.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in the laboratory at room temperature (24–28 8C) relative humidity of 79–92% and a 12 h photoperiod.
