Neurosciences: Histochemical and immunocytochemical effects of ingestion of chloroquine on visual relay centres of rats. Following treatment on adult male and female wistar rats with 2mg/kg body weight of chloroquine, the superior colliculus and the lateral geniculate body were dissected out.DNA and RNA were stained. The results showed that chloroquine crosses the blood brain barrier and adversely affected these centres.Affiliations
