The research conducted in the field of Molecular Geochemistry. This field characterizes coal and petroleum samples in particular area. The results of petroleum characterization can determine the level of petroleum maturity, the depositional environment and the origin of petroleum. These factors able to used as a basis for petroleum exploration in particular area. The rol of Molecular Geochemistry is also used in the investigation of crude oil spills in the marine environment caused by drilling, transportation and tankers accident.
