Current Research Activities


Current research interest is to synthesize various porphyrin and metalloporphyrins molecules and investigate their application in photodynamic anti-microbial therapy for chronic sores especially those caused by diabetes. In addition synthesize chemically bonded porphyrin-perovskite and use as light harvester for solar cells. The researches that have been done so far have been to use composites of porphyrin and persovkite as light harvesters which have shown promising results.

This was fellowship made it possible for me to have 6 month visit to Rhodes University, South Africa me carry where I carried out part of my PhD research. This span for period of 3 year from 2008-2011

TWAS Research Grant Programme for Individual Scientist and Research Unit in Science and Technology Lagging Countries. The funds were used to purchase an equipment and some reagents which have and are still been utilized by both undergraduate and post graduate students.
