Eligible fields Any topic relevant to the development needs of Southern Africa
Type of fellowship Postgraduate Degree. A diverse community of scholars, activists and organisations driven by a shared commitment to social justice, who collaborate to create and use knowledge to build an open and just society. It is created through three activities:
- Scholarships and Research (postgraduate scholarships, research grants, fellowships)
- Support for Civil Society (grants to partner organisations for legal assistance, advocacy & mobilising communities with an emphasis on grants that channel learning and scholarship to effect social change)
- Alliances between Scholars/Researchers and Civil Society (involvement in projects, and events, networks, public dialogue & debate)
Target group Female students from Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe)

Amounts
Stipend of ZAR 52,000 ($ 4, 500) for South Africans, and ZAR 60,000 ($ 5,000) for non-South Africans
+ Travel allowance (for scholars coming to South Africa from other SADC countries only) of ZAR 7,000 ($ 600)
+Tuition fees paid in full
