Biological Systems and Organisms

Schistosomiasis is a communicable parasitic disease linked to poverty in agricultural communities, with Nigeria having the highest burden of disease. This study will identify disease-endemic foci that could serve as reservoirs of infection and jeopardise the national/global elimination goals; generate information for resource allocation and for updating the epidemiological data.

Responsibilities include: • Collating and analyzing fisheries research and statistical data for policy formulation • Initiating and supervising specific fisheries projects • Information management for budget preparation, planning and implementation • Master Trainer for Federal Government N-Power Programme • Participation in state and national agricultural surveys • Facilitating marketing and distribution linkages
