Climate Change
Women are disproportionately affected by climate change due to various social, economic, and geographic factors, making them more vulnerable to its impacts. They often face greater risks during natural disasters, are more likely to be displaced, and experience increased burdens related to food and water security. However, women are also key agents of change in climate action, holding valuable knowledge, and playing vital roles in adaptation and mitigation efforts. OWSD members are at the forefront of climate change research, developing and designing solutions that can impact lives and mitigate women’s vulnerability to this challenge.
