Folake Akinbohun
About me
Dr. Folake Akinbohun is a computer scientist and academic with strong expertise in teaching, research, and administration. She works with Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, in 2021.
Dr. Akinbohun has reviewed papers for international journals and conferences and has published over 35 research articles, co-authored books, and practical manuals in computer science.
Her research interests include machine learning, health informatics, cybersecurity, and data-driven systems.
Dr. Folake Akinbohun is a dedicated computer scientist and academic with extensive experience in teaching, research, and administration. She currently serves as the Acting Head of the Department of Computer Science at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria from 2023 till date. She holds a PhD in Computer Science (2021) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria.
Dr. Akinbohun is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Organisation of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), and Women in Technical Education and Development (WITED). She has served as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.
Her research interests include machine learning, health informatics, cybersecurity, and data-driven systems. She has published extensively, with over 35 peer-reviewed articles, several conference presentations, and co-authored books and practical manuals for computing education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Akinbohun has contributed to students’ development, supervised numerous students’ projects, and participated in various institutional committees. She has attended and presented at local and international conferences. Her work focuses on applying innovative computing solutions to societal challenges such as healthcare, security, and education.
