Education
Historically, education has primarily benefited boys and men, often neglecting the specific needs of women. To promote gender equality, education must be adapted at all levels—from primary to PhD—including considerations like appropriate facilities for menstruating girls, flexible hours for childcare, and addressing male-dominated power structures. While OWSD has not traditionally funded research on these issues, it has created programmes that offer opportunities and resources to improve women's experiences in higher education. These initiatives aim to attract and retain women, especially in STEM.
