Dr. Chao Mbogho is a multi-award-winning Kenyan Computer Scientist, Educator, and Global STEM Leader advancing inclusive and ethical computing across Africa. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from University of Cape Town, and an MSc in Computer Science from University of Oxford. As Senior Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation, she leads Kenya’s national Responsible Computing initiative across eight universities, embedding ethics and human values into technology education. She is also the Founder of KamiLimu, an award-winning upskilling and mentorship program that has impacted over 300 students across 29 universities. A recipient of the OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Award and DIAR Eminent Leader Award, Dr. Mbogho has authored over 15 publications and served on international committees including SIGCSE and the Rhodes Scholarship Kenya Selection Committee. Her work bridges education, research, and innovation to reimagine technology for a more just world.
