Dr Hanan Ibrahim Mudawi: worked more than 20 years in the research field of biopesticides with an aim to introducing sustainability to the environment. She holds a Ph.D in environmental sciences, M.Sc in plant protection and B.Sc (Honours) in agricultural sciences. Currently, she is the director of scientific affairs at NCR. She is proficient in teaching, mentorship, and academic research, and has participated in numerous training programs and conferences. She is actively involved in many projects related to organic agriculture, bio-compost, weed management, and formulation of natural biocides. Besides being a member of many scientific societies, she provides consultation services for private companies in plant pathology and nematology.
Dr Hanan Ibrahim Mudawi worked for more than 20 years in the research field of biopesticides with the aim of introducing sustainability to the environment. She is an associate professor in biopesticides and plant pathology currently working at the Department of Biopesticides and Biofertilizers, Environment, Natural Resources and Desertification Research Institute, National Center for Research (NCR), Khartoum, Sudan. She holds a Ph.D. in biopesticides from the Sudan Academy of Sciences, an M.Sc. (plant protection) from the University of Khartoum and a B.Sc. (Honours) in agricultural sciences from the University of Gazera. Currently, she is the director of scientific affairs at NCR. Dr Hanan's main research areas are isolation and identification of fungi, study of fungal infection, biological control, plant pathological aspects in fungal infections, extraction of plant parasitic nematodes, host-pathogen interactions, plant disease control, and weed management, in addition to extraction, identification, fixation, culturing and preservation of nematodes, and seed health. Her research priority is the formulation of Trichoderma spp. and Bacillus spp., their mode of action and disseminating the importance of biopesticides to farmers. Throughout her career, Dr Hanan has participated in numerous training programmes and conferences and held training courses in a variety of fields. She is actively involved in many projects related to organic agriculture, biocompost, weed management, and formulation of natural biocides . She has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students and published in peer-reviewed journals. Besides being a member of many scientific societies, she provides consultation services for private companies in plant pathology and nematology.
