
About me
Mrs. Marie Grâce MUTIMUCYEYE is a woman of integrity, graduated from the school of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Hohai University, in China with a Master of Engineering in Surveying and Mapping. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Lecturer at Rwanda polytechnic. Her research field includes remote sensing of the natural resources such as land, water, and forest, in order to maintain their sustainability and management, and she is expert in Geographic Information System and remote sensing for data collection as well as its tools and software. In addition, she is an expert consultant in climate change & mitigation, water resources management and sustainable land use. She has numerous publications on groundwater storage dynamics using Satellites data, and has presented her research work in different conferences organized by RAWISE and the Institute of Engineers Rwanda (IER).
Mrs. Mutimucyeye Marie Grâce is a professional researcher, and since 2023 till now she serves as full time Assistant Lecturer in the department of civil engineering, Geomatics Technology program affiliated at Rwanda Polytechnic, Ngoma College. She was also involved in teaching at University level and supervising the students at Diploma and undergraduate levels in the field of surveying and mapping engineering( Geomatics Engineering) at different Higher Learning Institutions in Rwanda, and contributed in the module development and review of taught modules. Her first University studies started in 2007 at University of Rwanda former National University of Rwanda and her University bachelor’s degree was obtained in 2011 in Agricultural Engineering. She later in 2017, joined Hohai University in China; where she studied Surveying and Mapping Engineering and graduated in 2020 with a Master of Engineering in Surveying and Mapping.
Marie Grâce is an active member of Rwandan Association of Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE), and Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), where we close our fingers together to empower our girls young generation in Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Rwanda. Her professional experience spans across a wide range of Surveying and Mapping Engineering projects in China and Rwanda, where her research interests are within the broad domain of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, mainly focusing on remote sensing applications for natural resources , including water, land, and forests, to promote environmental sustainability.
