The doctorate study focused on adaptive coping as a pathway to resilience in rural communities. The study incorporated an indigenous psychological stance in an attempt to contribute to documented indigenous knowledge systems in the field of the psychology.

This was a professional degree. The training focuses on theoretical and practical training of educational psychologists in South Africa. The degree also entailed a research component in which I completed a mini-dissertation which focused on message framing in HIV/AIDS prevention messages.
