About me
Dr. Selen Gür Özmen is a medical doctor, neurologist, and cognitive neuroscientist with a PhD and over a decade of academic and clinical experience. She is currently an Associate Professor at Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, where she teaches and supervises graduate and postgraduate students in neuroscience, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation sciences. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity, cognitive rehabilitation, and non-invasive neuromodulation techniques, including vagus nerve stimulation and tDCS, combined with neuroimaging approaches such as fMRI and EEG. She has authored and edited several international books, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and led nationally funded research projects.
Dr. Selen Gür Özmen is a medical doctor, neurologist, and cognitive neuroscientist with extensive expertise in brain health and neuroplasticity. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and serves as an Associate Professor at Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, where she has supervised more than 25 MSc and PhD theses and developed innovative courses in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and cognitive rehabilitation. Her research focuses on translational approaches to prevent cognitive decline, combining neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG), non-invasive neuromodulation (vagus nerve stimulation, tDCS), and digital cognitive interventions. She has led several nationally funded research projects supported by TÜBİTAK and has edited and authored international books on neuroplasticity and brain transformation.
Dr. Özmen has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, served as reviewer for leading international journals, and acted as an invited speaker at national and international conferences. Her work emphasizes bridging basic neuroscience with clinical practice, with a strong focus on rehabilitation, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases. She is dedicated to mentoring young scientists, advancing women in science, and promoting global collaborations in neuroscience research.
