About me

PhD researcher in Chemical & Environmental Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia, specializing in biohydrogen and renewable waste-to-energy solutions

I am Shishita Zahan Zisha, a PhD researcher in Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia, supported by the OWSD Fellowship. My doctoral research focuses on sustainable biohydrogen production from palm oil mill effluent (POME) through thermophilic fermentation, using eco-friendly bioadditives to enhance hydrogen yield and remove heavy metals from wastewater.

I hold an MSc in Environmental Science and have strong expertise in renewable energy, anaerobic digestion, waste-to-energy conversion, and microbial community analysis. Over the course of my research, I have published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and actively contributed to projects addressing environmental sustainability.

My long-term vision is to advance circular economy solutions by transforming waste into clean energy, reducing environmental pollution, and promoting sustainable technologies for global energy security.
