Type of fellowship  PhD or post-doctoral studies. The Schlumberger Foundation is an independent nonprofit entity that supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Recognizing the link between science, technology, and socio-economic development, as well as the key role of education in realizing individual potential, the Schlumberger Foundation flagship programme is Faculty for the Future. They also produce The Guide to Colleges & Careers for Women in STEM, which offers in-depth information in several areas, including:

  • Guide to colleges for women in STEM
  • Women-focused STEM scholarships
  • STEM career and college organizations for women

Target group  Women from developing and emerging economies

Host info  Approved leading universities worldwide (NOT home countries)

Duration  1 year renewable

Eligible costs 

• tuition and university fees

• accommodation costs

 • allowance for books and supplies

• medical insurance

• transport costs

• travel to host country, visa and conference expenses  

• child care grant

Non eligible costs

 • independent sightseeing and cultural events

• non program-related domestic or international travel

• US J-1 exchange visitor visa

Amounts  Max: $ 50,000 (Ph.D.) $ 40,000 (Postdoctoral) yearly
